International Observation: The Epidemic Has A Great Impact On Overseas Textile Production

According to the statistics of the Ministry of Finance and economics of Cambodia, in the first quarter of 2021, the export volume of clothing, shoes and travel goods was 2.4 billion US dollars, a decrease of 10% over the same period of last year. According to the data compiled by the association of Italian textile machinery manufacturers (ACIMIT), the order acceptance index of Italian textile machinery increased by 66% from January to March 2021 compared with the same period in 2020 due to the good performance of orders from foreign and domestic markets. Orders from abroad showed a 68% increase. On the domestic side, the increase in orders was more diversified, with an increase of 54% compared with the first quarter of 2020, which was very significant because textile machinery production almost stopped after the epidemic began.
