On the 2 day, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce held a seminar at the Canton Fair to analyze the new situation facing the export of agricultural products and explore the Countermeasures for the pformation and upgrading of agricultural products export.


Since China's accession to the WTO, the export of agricultural products has increased rapidly, and its export volume has exceeded 40 billion US dollars, making it the fourth largest exporter of agricultural products in the world.

China's exports of aquatic products, letinous edodes, honey and other agricultural products rank the highest in the world.

However, as a large agricultural country, agricultural exports account for only 3-4% of the total export volume, and the quality and processing level of products need to be improved.


Li Jian, deputy director of the China Foreign Trade Research Institute of the Ministry of Commerce, said that several major international trade countries are also large exporters of agricultural products. In recent ten years, the growth of global agricultural trade has surpassed that of industrial trade.

China's expansion of agricultural exports can not only increase farmers' incomes, but also expand new space for foreign trade exports.

He suggested that China should increase agricultural utilization of foreign capital and support science and technology.

In addition, the international trade barriers encountered by agricultural products export are more and more covert, and negotiations need to be increased to break the barriers.


The Chinese Chamber of Commerce for food, animal and Animal Import and export said that many enterprises have realized the urgency of product pformation and upgrading, but this is not urgent.

The strongest demand of enterprises in the short term is to improve the policies of introducing foreign capital, maintain the stability of the RMB exchange rate, standardize export order, and resist bad competition.

The chamber of commerce is also guiding enterprises to develop high value-added agricultural products to offset the pressure of cost increase and so on.


Reporters in the Canton Fair interview learned that Guangzhou wheat Europe clothing company relies on design research and development in France's clothing market to occupy a place.

Zhou Jinsong, President of the company, said: "the company has hired 6 fashion designers, one of them from France, and overseas to engage consultants to exchange fashion clothes. Therefore, it is easy to grasp the trend and design clothing is recognized by well-known international brands."

The company sells 70% of its products to France with its own brand, while the other 30% sells creative designs to internationally renowned companies for export.


As for the price rise of cotton textile materials, Zhou Jinsong thinks that the cost of each item of clothing is only increased by several yuan by three of the price increase of cotton and fabric. But if the creative design is approved by the purchasers, the price increase is acceptable.


Che Ketao, vice-chairman of the China Textiles Import and export chamber and vice chairman and chief executive officer of Yida group, believes that pformation and upgrading require technological innovation.

Enterprises should not only improve product quality and efficiency, but also improve the automation process, improve service level, and achieve energy saving and emission reduction.
