Macedonia Has Great Potential For Shoe Leather Production.

Macedonia is a diversified economy with many competitive export products in the international market, including chemical, textile and leather products, agricultural products cultivation and processing, grape cultivation and wine. Besides, the Macedonian government also encourages foreign businessmen to invest in auto parts, software development, food processing, medicine, fine chemicals, tourism development and other fields.

Chemical, textile and leather products are the main industries in Macedonia, which account for 20% of GDP, and textile and leather processing industry also provides 24.1% jobs.

There are 400 textile factories in Macedonia, but the scale is generally small. The main products are cotton yarn, cloth and wool yarn and their finished products, most of which are exported to Europe and North America.

Macedonia has great potential for leather production. It can produce 3 million 500 thousand square meters of leather, 1 million 300 thousand square meters of fur and 5000 tons of rubber products every year. Besides, there are 70 small shoe factories with production capacity of about 3 million pairs of shoes.
